Iowa City, Ia. — Iowa brewers and beer geeks say a law from 1933 is keeping the state off the craft beer bandwagon.
Laws governing sales of higher-proof alcoholic beverages mean the state is losing tax money and blocking an expanding industry, they contend. Other states’ brew masters enjoy looser regulations and business from out-of-state buyers.
